so its been a couple days since the exam and yet more stuff that i flunked at each station keeps popping into my head without even thinking about it. was i supposed to perform the whole mental state exam or just make a risk assessment (as i did) at the paracetamol od station? why the fuck did i tug on that chest drain suture so hard? ive done loads and have NEVER snapped a suture like that. and i deliberately looked for scars on that chest exam mans chest... i swear i saw none! man, how do you stop these thoughts from appearing? =|

watched a new show on bbc tonight called "trauma". filmed at my old unit, the ed at the royal london hospital in whitechapel, with a focus on the london hems* service. both my old bosses appeared on the series opener, a full article on gareth davies sticking a chest tube into a young traumatic haemothorax and a fleeting glimpse of alastair wilson in action on the floor. brings back memories, both good and bad. some of my best days and my most bleak days were worked in that whitechapel resus room...
